North York Moors Visitors Centre

North York Moors visitors centre is located 1 mile from the cottage and from where many walks start. There is a cafe and a delighful play area which includes a mud kitchen . The visitor centre offers a lot of information about the area and hosts many events thoughtout the year for all the family to enjoy.

After exploring the moor you might like to give your legs a rest and head for a night out in Whitby. You can take the train from Castleton or Danby village. The train will take you through the stunning scenery of the Esk valley, a journey not to be missed. Once at Whitby you could travel further and admire the route to Pickering where you could take a ride on a steam train!
